The staircase to heaven

If there was any staircase to heaven, people would be clamoring to climb it. But there is none, so people resort to creating their own versions of those staircases and start climbing them in whatever way it demands.
But the staircase has value only because death lurks beneath on the ground. What will happen the day when humans conquer death? There won’t be any need for climbing that staircase and going to heaven. People will want that heaven brought down on earth.
