Technology introduces accountability

A few decades ago, a politician murdering his opponents? That was almost like a job qualification. Now, he gets shouted at for murdering someone and if he has also raped someone, then maybe resign from the post.

Cops had tremendous power and were able to do anything. Now, not anymore. Poor guys.

Bureaucrats ruled the world of corruption. Now, they still rule but they know their time is limited.

Technology has brought us mobile phones and the internet and they in turn shifted the balance of power in the hands of the common people. Think what is most restricted in North Korea or China.
