Serious people
We all know a few people who are solemn most of the time. A frown seems permanently painted on their face. Rarely will you spot them smile or laugh? When we are around them, we feel our jubilant energy sucked out and, we refrain from smiling or laughing ourselves.
What will these people gain out of this short life by being so stern? Won’t it be lighter to travel through this life smiling?
Now, I acknowledge that these people have their background stories where they “decided” to be serious forever and stop smiling and being so childish. That is their coping mechanism. If only they knew the worth of having fun, like that father character in the Italian movie Life Is Beautiful.
