Preserving the flame of curiosity in you is like…

You are climbing on a mountain with a lit candle in your hand. The wind howl, trying to snuff out the fire. But you keep the flame shielded with your hand.

Many lose the fire and then throw away the candle altogether, never lighting back the flame of curiosity.

But for some trying to carry the candle is a lifelong battle.

But this allegory has a flaw. A candle will always have the strength equal to the wax and the length of the wick in it. But it is not so with curiosity. The more you age, the easier it gets to preserve your curiosity. You get stronger. It is like instead of the wind picking up speed as you climb higher on a mountain, the wind disappears totally. That’s how it is, though counterintuitive.

So keep in mind as you go through brutal times to keep that flame alive that it is going to get more relaxed and someday you won’t even have to shield the flame. Any wind will only stoke up the fire.
