Not touching our face should be easy

The coronavirus outbreak has pushed the governments to coordinate at an unprecedented level.

In just the last month, the amount of hand washing must have gone through the roof if someone was tracking that.

Another important step to stop the spread is to not get infected oneself. And one way that is advised everywhere is to not touch our face, especially our eyes, nose and, mouth.

That sounds easy. All we have to do is keep our hands down at all times and perhaps never bring them above the neck level. Maybe some rare superhumans will be able to do this easily. But not others like me.

The habit of touching our face is so ingrained that most of us have never even thought about how often we do it until now. And now when we want to stop doing it, we catch ourselves scratching our head or picking our nose or rubbing our eyes.

Everyone knows that avoiding touching face is almost impossible. We can reduce the frequency, but when we are focused on something else, our hands will touch our face.

That is why we must wash our hands well to kill the germs and viruses. That is like a deadly combo for the virus’s infectivity. Instead of infecting hundreds in a week, it will be only able to infect a handful of people.

We must all strive to flatten the curve. Do your part.
