Attention isn’t important, Value is.

In our current internet economy, more and more people strive to garner attention online.

Where the eyes are, there is the advertisement revenue.

So the one who has more attention has a better chance to earn more money. Simple.

But not every attention is earned equally. There are some easy ways to get attention, which provide no value to the consumer in the long term. Then there are harder ways, which provide a massive value over long periods.

Here is the thing. I may succeed in gathering attention for a fleeting moment but if I am not providing any value, consumers move on to the next short hit of dopamine and I am left wondering what I have to do next. (Maybe I need to do more lunges).

Do not fall for the easy way. Strive to provide a long term value and you will find yourself content and at peace.
