Anti-ageing
I recently watched a video by Isaac Arthur which explored the inevitable solution of the ageing puzzle. Until now, I had read about ideas that explored how we will incrementally keep on increasing our life expectancy as we have done till now. But that increase is in one part by a drastic reduction in infant mortality which affects the overall average number.
This video said that we may soon get a discovery, a magic pill let’s say, which will instantly slow down or even eliminate our ageing process drastically. That means, one generation will have lived a few decades, and then the next generation will live to over a few centuries or millennia. That will destroy much of our societal system and change them into an unfamiliar cocktail. For example, it will change how we will live our lives when we have a few centuries to live.
That video blew my mind and, my mind rushed to generate story ideas our of it. Then I realized that Altered Carbon is based on a similar idea. Let’s see if I can come up with something interesting.
I like to wonder: how will we live such a long life?
